Mcgee

Timothy "Tim" McGee is a fictional special agent from the NCIS television series by CBS Television, portrayed by Sean Murray. Special Agent Timothy McGee, or "Probie" as he is commonly referred to by Special Agent DiNozzo, is the newest addition to Special Agent Gibbs' investigative team. He gained his field agent status when he was transferred to Washington from Norfolk and now serves as Gibbs' field computer consultant[citation needed], as well as working with Abby Sciuto in the forensics lab when necessary. McGee suggestively[citation needed] dated forensics specialist Abby Sciuto for a short period of time during season one, but it was kept at a casual level on Abby's request.[citation needed] The relationship ended late in season one, with the characters remaining good friends. Since then, Abby has shown distinct signs of jealousy over the attention given to McGee by other female colleagues.[citation needed]

[edit] Background Education: Masters in Computer Forensics from MIT and BSc in Biomedical Engineering from John Hopkins. [1]

[edit] Relationships As the junior field agent of the team, McGee is often subject to ridicule from the likes of DiNozzo and David, and to some extent, Gibbs. This is often in reference to his inexperience in the field, with other characters getting pushy in order to teach him a lesson on the harshness of the job.[citation needed]

[edit] Hobbies McGee has a passion for computers and enjoys playing games often relating to tactical warfare and covert infiltration. McGee uses a Logitech Y-SAE71-SK-2930 keyboard to carry out his everyday work.[2] This is shown[citation needed] to be an interest shared by his sister Sarah, as seen in the episode 'Red Cell', when she takes over his live war game as he leaves his flat.

McGee also enjoys writing mystery/crime books[citation needed], though this is kept a secret from the NCIS team for a long time.[citation needed] Under the pseudonym 'Thom E. Gemcity' (an anagram of 'Timothy McGee'), he has penned at least two novels as part of the Deep Six series.[citation needed] The title of the first book, 'Deep Six: The Continuing Adventures of L.J. Tibbs' suggests[original research?] there have been previous novels, but these have yet to be named. The next of McGee's books to be released, and sequel to its predecessor is entitled 'Deep Six: Rock Hollow'.[citation needed] In the episode 'Cover Story', Rock Hollow becomes a center point in that the NCIS team are investigating a murder, when McGee reveals everything that has taken place has been part of the book he is currently writing. It is then discovered that the story was stolen from the typewriter ribbon McGee threw out with the trash, and that Abby is the next victim. McGee realises the murderer is actually a fan of his from his local coffee shop, and quickly acts to save Abby's life. It is here, Abby uses her parallel character from McGee's book to explain to him that 'they are all wrong for each other'.

McGee's writing has apparently given him enough fame to be recognised and feted as a minor celebrity and enjoy perks such as VIP clubbing (Friends and Lovers). What - if anything - McGee spends his royalties on is uncertain, as he still lives in the same apartment, drives an ordinary car and makes no obvious outward display of wealth.

The characters in McGee's books are actually based on the NCIS team, with Leroy Jethro Gibbs as L.J. Tibbs, Anthony DiNozzo as Tommy, Ziva David as Lisa, Abby as Amy Sutton, Jimmy Palmer as Pimmy Jalmer, and himself as McGregor. This displeases some of the NCIS team, and McGee is victim to constant torment from Ziva and DiNozzo for many episodes thereafter.[citation needed]
